B. Cyr Jewelry
“My name is Beth Cyr and I am an artist living and working in Athens, Georgia. I’ve been creating art since I was a tiny child, but became involved in the art/metal/jewelry field several years ago when I started in the Jewelry and Metals department at the University of Georgia. I graduated in 2003 and have been working to set up my jewelry business. As of December 31st, 2005 I quit my job (working for someone else) and have been working on my jewelry full time to support myself. I am so grateful that I am able to do what I love doing full time. It has enabled me to be creative in so many areas and I just feel inspired by everything!
All of my work is very organic – I like to just go with the flow as often as possible. I do not want my work to look like a machine might have made it. I love hammer marks and file marks and textures that say “This was made by loving hands”, because its true! I have very tiny hands, but I think that just allows me a bit more dexterity and fine tuning. It also means I like making small bangles and rings that fit me and other gals like me too! Most of my business has become creating organic style wedding rings. It makes me really happy to be creating something so meaningful.”
