“ I love to travel, and am endlessly inspired by the things I see in the world around me, from the exotic to the mundane. While geography reminds me how small we are, I also love to study anatomy and cellular structures, which make the human body feel like its own vast geography. Over the past few years I have developed my own visual language that draws on these elements. My most recent pieces combine unconventional materials with traditional ones, old with new, precious with non-precious, all with a focus on shape, texture, and color.”

Emily is participating in a show called “Hard Brilliance: Diverse Approaches in Contemporary Enameling”  Februry 4-26, 2010 at the Pratt Fine Arts Center, Seattle.
