Danielle Miller: For the 9th time, she was chosen as a NICHE Award Finalists. This year her bud vase was chosen in the “Holloware” category. The winners were announced in Philadelphia on February 12, 2010. Although she did not win, it is always an honor to be chosen as a Finalist. Nanopod Studio: Is teaching!! Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Intensive glass fusing and metalsmithing workshop
Saturday, April 10th noon to 5pm & Sunday, April 11th, noon to 6pm
5 student max. $285 includes all materials (deposit of $100 required to hold space)
This is a 2-day intensive workshop that teaches not only how to make beautiful fused glass cabochons or “stones”, but also how to mount and display them to their best advantage. It is a fun, hands-on class that begins with glass cutting and ends with the completion of 6 to 10 fused pieces; cabochons for earrings, pendants and rings. The next day using sterling silver students will choose from their fusings made on Saturday and learn how to bezel set them, creating beautiful one-of-a-kind earrings, pendants and rings.
If you are interested in making unique jewelry for sale or gifts, then this is the class for you.

Learn how to cut glass, emboss-it, embed things in it, and fuse-it then learn how to bezel set your glass pieces, make a ring band for your bezel settings, pendants, cuff links, etc. Resource list of where you can purchase materials, tools, equipment and how to set-up your own studio is included.
Class fee includes materials: glass, sterling & fine silver for one ring band and 1 bezel setting, supplies, and firings. Tools are provided. Lunch is included!
NO Experience Necessary!

Moxie And Oliver is a Vendor at Wintergrass Bluegrass festival, in Bellvue, Washington, on Feb 25 – 28th; yay! And Andes Cruz will also be at the Festival, but not officially as a vendor. Moxie And Oliver is working on a whole new line of Guitar straps, Mandolin straps, Banjo straps, Flasks, and more; special just for the Bluegrass crowd.

Andes Cruz: is working madly on a new set of custom belt buckles to feature at Wintergrass Bluegrass festival, in Bellvue, Washington, on Feb 25 – 28th, with all of Moxie And Oliver‘s fabulous belts.

Andes Cruz:

  • Would like you to know, she has been updating her website. It has finished a migration to “The Cloud”; and is now hosted on MobileMe. Which only means that there will be new and exciting things happening, such as the addition of podcasts begin uploaded. As we speak, she is adding  Audio clips from the online interview she did with the Online Jewelry Connection, on December 13th, 2009.  The website address has not changed, nor have her email contacts.
  • As well, Andes has been working on building a new page with Kit and Kaboodle, as well as Deviant Art.
  • Andes wants to remind you very soon, she will be announcing a One Day Sale, in her ArtFire, and Etsy shops. She says; Stay tuned on her blog, and Facebook fan page for details the DAY OF! It will be in the next couple weeks :)
